As I sat down to make a list of Christmas gifts- what to get others not my own wish list- it just so happened I paused to check my list of daily blogs. One of those blogs is P.S. I made this. I’ve always had the urge to go crazy in a craft store and make everything that Erica Domesek- author of P.S. I made this- features on her blog. I figured Christmas is the perfect time to take advantage of this urge.
I didn’t think I’d be able to blog about my DIY attempts until after Christmas- hopefully my friends read this- but as luck would have it I’m best friends with the world’s most impatient person so my first gift exchange happened this past weekend.
iPad Clutch
My impatient friend, she received a Christmas gift early- an iPad. I had to give this clutch a try. I found the duct tape no problem at a craft store, but I had to venture over to a hardware store for the drawer liner and velcro. I was a little nervous because the first employee I asked for locations on theses items, looked at me like I was crazy.
I got all the supplies home and from that point it was simple. I got the iPad measurements from the Apple website and then went to work. The challenging part of this clutch was making sure the tape was wrapped smoothly and most importantly in a straight line. Overall it was a success. I hope I’ll be opening my very own iPad on Christmas so I can make one for myself.
Personal Tote Bag
This tote was a little bit more trickier than I anticipated. I knew this would be great for my other best friend because she always seems to be carrying a lot of things. I’d also like to add random things. When we go out, I can always count on her to have a granola bar or some other healthy snack available.
I was able to utilize the duct tape from the iPad clutch so all I needed was a tote and paint markers. I’m a huge fan of the Sharpie brand, but I couldn’t find any so I went with another brand. The stripes were the simple part. It was the leopard design that made me nervous. It made me so nervous that I dropped that design and went with another. Overall I feel the tote was a success.
I’m definitely a fan of DIY Christmas. In fact my creative Christmas isn’t over just yet. Thanks to P.S. I made this, there are several more gifts to be made.

These look really good! Every time I try and make something like this, it ends up looking like a girl scout craft project.
Thanks! I was a bit nervous so I picked out the easiest looking projects
